Reading House Kitchen Renovation

The Reading House kitchen was transformed from a dark, small space into a bright, functional kitchen-diner.

Client Brief & Vision

Location: Worcester, UK

The clients wanted to transform their small, dark kitchen into a light and bright kitchen-diner with a stronger connection to the garden, capable of comfortably accommodating friends and family.

As one of them is a ceramicist, they also wanted the kitchen to act as a subtle backdrop to display their porcelain work.

Working within the constraints of a Grade II listed property, the brief focused on creating a practical, clutter-free space with custom storage solutions while using a neutral, natural material palette to complement their artwork.

The Renovation & End Result

The renovation transformed the challenging space into a light, airy, and highly functional kitchen-diner.

Custom-made Linden cabinetry maximised storage while maintaining a clean, clutter-free aesthetic, and carefully chosen neutral materials created a serene backdrop for the client’s ceramic work.

Modern adaptations of classic shaker design, alongside integrated appliances and thoughtful layout, ensured the kitchen is both practical for daily use and welcoming for entertaining.
